What fandoms looks like to tumblr users
What fandoms looks like to non-tumblr users
ACCURATE.
ACCURATE AS HELL.
WHY AM I LAUGHING SO HARD
basically what fandom has taught me is that when a white character does a shitty thing we have to dig deep into his past to look for anything that could have scratched his oh-so delicate psyche and could be the root cause of his grossness but when a poc does anything that fandom considers to be shitty it’s because they’re [insult ableist slur here] and therefore are undeserving of any sympathy
I just love thar Tumblr’s problem with 50 Shades of Grey isn’t “my goodness, it’s so pornographic!” but instead “oh my god this is the worst written porn I’ve ever read am I allowed to send this author some choice livejournal entries so she can improve her style”
she needed a better beta tbh
When someone agrees with something = suck-up
When someone disagrees with something = oppinion/jealousyWhen did it end up this way? Has the Internet always been this negative?
The internet’s always been this way. Every fandom goes through this phase. You just have to weather through it and not let anyone intimidate you into going along with what you think they want you to say or do.
